What You Will Be Doing:
FitLinxx provides an industry-leading wireless system and set of devices that are used to track health and activity data and help people better understand and improve their health. The system includes activity sensors called the Pebble and ActiPed that accurately tracks steps, distance, calories and activity time and health devices including weight scales and blood pressure monitors. These devices send data wirelessly to a web-based system called Active Gateway that transports the data to applications built by our partners, including some of the world’s leading health, fitness and wellness program providers.
The Embedded Software Engineer will be responsible for the evolution of FitLinxx’s wireless strategy.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
- Modify and enhance existing wireless protocol stack for new features and performance
- Develop embedded libraries for 8051 and ARM microcontrollers
- Work with engineering team to design for both device and system level issues
- Aid in bringing up and debugging new hardware platforms
- Create tools and techniques for validation and verification of protocols and devices
- Provide support through the QA cycle - working closely with the QA team
What You Need:
- BSEE, BSCE or BSCS or equivalent
- 6+ years of embedded firmware development experience
- Wireless RF experience
- Bluetooth LE knowledge a plus
- Low-power (battery operated) wireless protocol experience a plus
- Knowledge of power management for low-power embedded targets
- Experience with source control and configuration management systems
- Ability to understand electrical schematics a plus
- Firmware debug experience
- Excellent problem solving and communication skills
- Ability to work individually and as part of a team
